Violence has diminished in Iraq but deadly bombings in the country continue. Twin car bombs in Baghad near the Green Zone have caused over 130 casualties and over 500 injuries. It was the deadliest bombing in Iraq in two years. The previous most deadly attack was in August, 2007 when more than 500 people killed in attacks on villages near Sinjar. The BBC has a list of the deadliest attacks here in a news story.
President Obama said in a statement, "These bombings serve no purpose other than the murder of innocent men, women and children, and they only reveal the hateful and destructive agenda of those who would deny the Iraqi people the future that they deserve."
