Raw Video: Gulf Oil Spill Seen Underwater

BP released this video that shows oil spewing out from its damaged oil well at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. An animation here helps explain how the Deepwater Horizon oil rig disaster happened. An estimated 200,000 gallons is pouring out of the damaged well each day. BP tried to plug the leak with a massive containment box but it failed. BP is considering plugging one of the leaks with tires and golf balls. Stephen Colbert has poked fun at the attempts to plug the leak. He says the perfect solution would be to use ultraconcentrated packing peanuts delivered by a monkey submarine.
