Posted on December 15, 2012

20 students and six adults were killed in the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The children killed were all aged between 6 and 7. The shooter has been identified as Adam Lanza, a son of one of the teacher's at the school. Lanza's mother, Nancy, was killed at her home. A semi-automatic Bushmaster rifle has been confirmed by H. Wayne Carver II, chief medical examiner for Connecticut as the gunman's primary weapon. The medical examiner also says it is the worst he has ever seen. He says the school victims were shot each shot multiple times.

Carver said, "I've been at this for a third of a century. My sensibilities may not be the average man, but this probably is the worst I have seen or the worst that I know of any of my colleagues having seen."
