Rita's Replaces Custard With Soft-Serve Due to Bird Flu

There is a growing egg shortage because of the bird flu outbreak in the U.S. Over 48 million birds have been affected by the outbreak according to the USDA. The outbreak is caused by the H5N2 avian influenza virus.

The egg shortage has some restaurants altering menus. Rita's is one of the company's changing menus. They are switching from frozen custard to soft-serve ice cream to reduce their use of eggs. Fortunately, some customers are not noticing the difference. Take a look:
