The FBI has released this dramatic footage that shows the tsunami striking the FBI office in Pago Pago in American Samoa on September 29th. The water quickly entered the parking lot and started lifting and moving cars and trucks. Take a look:
The Associated Press rode in on a helicopter with FEMA as they toured damage from the tsunami which killed at least 176 people in Samoa, American Samoa and Tonga. Thousands were left homeless by the tsunami. The Christian Science Monitorreports that 135 people were killed.
Dozens are dead after a tsunami struck the harbor of American Samoa. The tsunami followed a powerful 8.0 earthquake between Samoa and American Samoa. You can see footage of the tsunami here. The AP says some people say the earthquake lasted about three minutes. The Guardianreports that early damage reports indicate an entire village was wiped out by the tsunami.
